Gazipur Celebrates World Bee Day 2025 with Community Awareness Program

Gazipur, May 20, 2025 — In celebration of World Bee Day 2025, a group of beekeepers, community leaders, and youth gathered in Gazipur to raise awareness about the essential role of bees in sustaining ecosystems and agriculture. The event was organized by the Bangladesh Beekeepers Association as part of a nationwide observance.

Participants wore bright yellow T-shirts symbolizing bees and held a banner displaying the global theme: “Bee Inspired by Nature to Nourish Us All.” The program aimed to engage the local community in discussions on pollinator protection, sustainable farming, and the economic impact of beekeeping.

Speakers highlighted the importance of bees in pollinating crops and maintaining biodiversity. They also emphasized the need for more education, training, and support for beekeepers to protect pollinator populations from threats like pesticides, habitat loss, and climate change.

World Bee Day, celebrated on May 20, commemorates the birth of Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern beekeeping, and aims to promote global awareness of the importance of bees and other pollinators.
