Khulna Observes World Bee Day 2025 with Strong Community Participation

Khulna, Bangladesh – May 20, 2025:

The Bangladesh Beekeepers Association organized a lively event in Khulna to mark World Bee Day 2025 under the theme “Bee Inspired by Nature to Nourish Us All.” The event was held in front of the BSCIC office (Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation), drawing a large number of local beekeepers, volunteers, and community members.

Participants gathered with a vibrant banner to raise awareness about the crucial role of bees in pollination, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture. Many wore bright yellow t-shirts symbolizing the theme of the day, while others joined in solidarity to promote ecological balance and food security.

The event served as a platform to discuss the current challenges faced by bees, including habitat destruction, pesticide use, and the effects of climate change. Speakers from the association emphasized the need for public awareness and supportive policies to protect pollinators and promote beekeeping as a viable livelihood option.

World Bee Day is observed globally each year on May 20, commemorating the birthday of Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern apiculture. The celebration aims to recognize the essential role bees play in sustaining ecosystems and agriculture.

The Bangladesh Beekeepers Association continues to champion pollinator protection and is actively building awareness in regions across the country, including Khulna.
