Dhaka, May 20, 2025:
To commemorate World Bee Day 2025, the Bangladesh Beekeepers Association (BBKA) organized a seminar at the National Press Club, Dhaka, with the theme "Bee Inspired by Nature to Nourish Us All."
The event, held at 3:00 PM, brought together honey producers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and bee conservation advocates to discuss the importance of bees in biodiversity, food production, and rural livelihoods.
Speakers at the seminar emphasized that bees are essential pollinators, directly contributing to global food security and agricultural sustainability. They urged for increased investment in apiculture, training programs for beekeepers, and the creation of a bee-friendly environment through responsible use of pesticides and forest conservation.
The seminar also addressed the current challenges faced by beekeepers in Bangladesh and proposed collaborative solutions involving both government and private sector support.
The event concluded with a call to action for greater public awareness and national-level policy support to strengthen the country’s beekeeping industry.
