Bagerhat, May 20, 2025 —
The Bangladesh Beekeepers Association marked World Bee Day 2025 with great enthusiasm on May 20th in Bagerhat. Local beekeepers, community members, and organizers gathered to raise awareness about the vital role of bees in pollination and sustainable agriculture.
Under the theme “Bee Inspired by Nature to Nourish Us All”, the event aimed to emphasize the importance of bees in ensuring food security and biodiversity. Participants wore yellow event T-shirts symbolizing the color of bees and unity in purpose.
The celebration included discussions on beekeeping practices, the ecological value of bees, and the need to protect them from threats like habitat loss and pesticide use. The participants also highlighted the potential of honey production as a sustainable livelihood for rural communities in Bangladesh.
The event was organized by the Bangladesh Beekeepers Association, a group dedicated to supporting apiculture and environmental conservation across the country.
World Bee Day is observed globally to honor the birthday of Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern beekeeping, and to encourage efforts that support pollinators worldwide.
